Artist Statement Artist Susan Sjoberg is a contemporary realist painter whose still life and landscape compositions are noted for the clarity of light and depth of natural color. The still life arrangements and the settings of her landscapes are carefully composed to achieve a sense of harmonious rhythm and balance. Whether capturing the image of a mountain scene or a sun-washed still life, her goal in each painting is to evoke a sense of peace and a sharpened awareness of the transcendent beauty in life.

Susan lives and works near Frazier Park in the mountains of California. Surrounded by pine forest, rolling oak-studded hills and abundant wildlife, she finds inspiration in the dramatic quality of light and the peace of nature. A mostly self-taught artist, she works primarily in watercolor and acrylics.

She has won numerous awards and her original and limited edition works hang in private and public collections in the US and internationally.
