Description On the second Sunday in November each year, Remembrance Day (also called Poppy Day) is observed in Commonwealth countries, including Australia and Canada. It originated with the signing of the armistice, which ended World War I on November 11, 1918. White poppies are distributed by the Peace Pledge Union (PPU) as the holiday approaches. Thousands of people for the past eighty years have worn these beautiful flowers to represent all the victims of war, to acknowledge a commitment to peace, and to challenge attempts at glamorizing and celebrating war. Peace Poppy, is a hand-painted digital image created in Spadecallers Florida studio on 6/17/2020.
