Artist Statement Elena Fischer-Greenman studied fine art and art history at the College of New Rochelle in New York. In 1996 she was awarded a solo show at the College Center Gallery as well as the Art Department’s Purchase Award.

From 1997- 2003 Fischer-Greenman exhibited at various spaces on Long Island and in Rockland County, NY. She was included in shows at the Edward Hopper House in Nyack, NY, The Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington, NY as well as the BJ Spoke Gallery in Huntington, NY. Elena has shown her Maps and Charts series at Studio 4 West Gallery in Piermont and the Water Mill Museum in Water Mill, NY.

In 2003, Fischer-Greenman moved to Meredith, NY with her family. Here she continues to make art for her series Maps and Charts. Since moving to the rural town of Meredith in Delaware County, her work has become influenced by the local scenery and animal life. The incredible views of scenic farms and pastures and the animals that inhabit the rolling hills have all inspired her current work. Some of her most recent work has been shown locally at the Brighthill Word and Image Gallery in Treadwell, NY as well as the Treadwell Museum of Art and at the Wilber Mansion Gallery in Oneonta, NY.
