Artist Statement Growing up Michael Tasker has been outside most of his life, whether it is camping, hiking, or just the average road trip to somewhere he has been yet. Being drawn to the outdoors, has kept Michael capturing the landscapes of the United States. He loves to freeze moments in time that describe nature in it’s finest.

Inspired by Ansel Adams, Michael reflects his use of light and composition through the lens. Using bright composites of color to capture the personality of the landscape, he photographs landscapes using the surrounding atmosphere as his guide.

With an art background, Michael graduated with a BA in photography. He has devoted his life to learning and experimenting with photography as his medium. In a constant learning process, he has learned several different medias and software to enhance his photography. He has shown his work in several galleries ranging from schools to restaurants and is now working on a couple personal projects. He will continue to explore the realm of nature and will capture the essence of beauty and personality through his photographs.
