Artist Statement By immersing the personal world of love, loss, art, and family with that of the conceptual goals of iHARTphotography, the artist, Sara Hart, explores, selects, simplifies and abstracts the concepts of race, family, and identity.
Although Sara received her first camera at the age of nine, it wasn’t until her early teens that she began to explore the possibilities of photography. She found that taking images of people and capturing different ranges of emotion and body language produced the best graphic representation of her thoughts.
Educated and recognized with honors for her vision at Parsons School of Design in New York City, Sara has managed to create a style that is both aesthetically pleasing and thought-provoking. She is not a stranger to being put in the public eye concerning her views and is in the midst of creating an organization that supports the collaboration of emerging and established artists by challenging the exhibition space itself.
