Artist Statement BIO:
I am currently a senior at Loyola University Maryland, double majoring in Art History and Studio Art. Aspiring to study Design in Graduate School, I hope to earn a masters in Interior Architecture, and become a LEED certified. During schoold breaks I live in Massachusetts. When I'm not painting I love spending time cooking, hiking, sailing and skiing Okemo with family and friends.

STATEMENT:
I love the beauty in the everyday scenes of life. The steam rising from a street vent or how paint cracks and peels over time.
My inspiration comes from everywhere. I collect and store the images and ideas that move me and re-create them through art. My love of travel allows me to explore new places and ideas. When I visit a new place, I photograph it. My pictures frame detailed views which seem to reveal a location's unique character. Things like Old signs and graffiti appeal to me the most.
By eliminating the destractions surrrounding a sign you no longer focus on the words. By reproducing mundane subjects in a traditional medium, like watercolor, demands keener observation and the appreciation of unconventional beauty. Perspective changes everything.
