Artist Statement My interest in watercolors began years ago after visiting numerous Santa Fe art galleries. I wondered how the artists created such delicate paintings. My formal watercolor instruction began seven years ago attending Harold Johnson's watercolor class. Since then I have attended workshops presented by Florence Lauzon, Mira M. White and Terry Madden. Like other watercolorists, I began painting on paper. In the summer of 2007 I tried watercolor canvas and found a substrate that better suited my style of painting. Wanting to try oils, in 2008 I began to use water soluble oils which allowed me to keep some techniques I used in watercolor. Now I am concentrating in colored pencil drawing. I find colored pencils allow me to continue to produce the flow of watercolors and I can create the smaller pieces I prefer. My art has shown in the annual Trilogy Art Guild Art Show (First Prize in Watercolor-2010), Trilogy Arts and Crafts show, Summerwind Art Gallery in Isleton, California and Dixon May Fair in Dixon, California. My paintings now hang in Colorado, Pennsylvania and California.
My interest in photography began many years ago. Educated as a zoologist and having worked for a zoo for 27 years, my interests lean towards the natural world.

All of my watercolor and oil paint supplies were donated to our local high school. They will get much more out of them than I will.
