Artist Statement My grandmother worked as a studio photographer's assistant in the 1920's. She took pictures of friends and family everywhere she went well into her 80's. I picked up photography when our fifth grade teacher gave us an assignment to photograph our little town of Hinton, WV. Seven years later, I received a Canon AE1 as a high school graduation present from my parents. Among other jobs, I worked my through college as a work-study photographer at Alderson-Broaddus College. A close friend of mine recently encouraged me to find a market for my photography.

To me, photography is the science of capturing the art created by God and nature as well as those things made by man and woman. I now shoot mainly with a Canon D30 or D40 digital SLR or a Canon 850 IS point and shoot. I am trying to become a better photographer by remaining true to the original image and doing as little image manipulation as possible. In some cases, I have found that average or even poor photographs can be used to create interesting digitally enhanced images.

In my day job, I am the Founder & President of PracticeLink.com - The Online Physician Job Bank. My job requires that I travel often. I have decided to make the most of these travels by capturing some of the images that you see here. I dedicate these images to my grandmother and to my friends, family, staff and clients. I hope you enjoy them.
