Description Samurai Horio Mosuke Yoshiharu by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861), master of ukiyo-e style of Japanese woodblock prints. Horio Yoshiharu was a young warrior who retreated into the woods and lived as a hunger following the downfall of his first lord's house. Here, with no weapons, he is in hand-to-hand combat with a gigantic wild boar. After this incident he formed a connection with a new lord and made a dramatic comeback as a samurai, successful in many battles.
