Artist Statement Matt Ewan is a young photographer based out of Austin Texas. Most of his influences come from nature, the surrounding world, and the confrontations where nature and man meet. The works cover from abstract artistic representations to documentary photo journalism type subjects.

Matt's project entitled "Haunted Austin" takes the viewer on a dramatic photographic journey through the history and ghosts of Austin Texas. The focus is on the stories of hauntings in Austin from it's extensive journey from a small town along the flood prone Colorado river to a large, lively, and diverse music capital. During Austin's growth the city has retained much of it's many of its historical structures complete with their ghosts and hauntings. The project takes the reader to an eerie dark side of a otherwise green and laid back city.

Matt's other works include landscape and location photography to bring new images, places, and ideas to others. His works also include portraiture for events, portraits, engagements, and some weddings.
