Kathy Johnson, Jacksonville, Oregon Member Since September 2006 Artist Statement The ethereal beauty of Kathy Johnson’s watercolors will draw you in with the richness of color and design. The paintings have a dream-like quality that makes commonplace items and situations feel special.
A love of color and pattern come from studies in textiles and work as a textile designer while living in Hawaii. Her emphasis on harmonious color combinations led to work in architectural color consulting for many years.
A signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, Kathy's work has been shown in galleries and exhibit locally and throughout the country.
In 2018 she moved from Seattle, Washington to the historic town of Jacksonville, Oregon where her studio is no longer two blocks from Puget Sound - but one block from the concert sound of the Britt Music Festival! It's a beautiful environment from which to draw inspiration.
