Description 'Soft Orchid Blooms is an art print I created using a soft watercolor technique. This print is of the blooms on an orchid plant that blooms during the winter months only. The nights need to get cool enough to initiate the blooming cycle without freezing the plant. This particular stem of blooms is from a plant we had on our patio year round when we lived in the San Diego area. Starting in January you would begin seeing the stalks pop up from the base and the blooms would open and last into early spring.Follow my work:TheWallGallery: https://thewallgallery.comBlog: http://thewallgalleryblog.wordpress.com/Twitter:https://twitter.com/KirtWallGalleryFacebook:https://www.facebook.com/TheWallGallery.KirtTisdaleCopyright 2012 Kirt D. Kirt Tisdale, Sherman Oaks Member Since February 2013 Artist Statement I have been creating art since I can remember. I have been blessed with having my work featured in various venues. What drives me is the beauty in the world with which we live. I remember as a kid looking up at the clouds and watching them change shape...if they could only stay in one shape long enough for me to enjoy and appreciate them....but that's not how it works. What I can do though is take a moment and freeze it. The beauty around us needs to be savored, contemplated and appreciated. Good art invokes an emotional response either through the scene depicted or the colors used. I hope my work invokes the same in you.
