Description SPIRALING DOWN THE CHASM AT UPPER TAUGHANNOCK FALLS - Taughannock Falls is a very well-known waterfall in New York's Finger Lakes Region. But, most people don't realize that there is another impressive fall above it, known as Upper Taughannock Falls. It is an incredible waterfall that can be seen from an abandoned railroad bridge at the top of the state park. This waterfall plunges 212 feet straight down into a spiraling gorge. Thankfully, there was a high chain link fence to keep me from falling into the gorge! But, I had to work hard for this image as it is a bit precarious looking down into that incredible cavern below!! Taughannock Falls is located in the town of Trumansburg, New York, in the Finger Lakes District, just outside the town of Ithaca. Fall 2018
