Description The first painting in a series of two paintings revolving around the topic of mankind's indomitable spirit. It conveys a sense of purpose, nobility and courage while the sword that is being carried by the character conveys a feeling of strength and resolution. In this case the sword is pointing down, thus creating a sense of calmness that is further reinforced by the closeness of the water in which the character finds herself. The landscape itself is devoid of detail, hinting at magic and fantasy which is added by the viewer's imagination.
