Description Battambang literally means 'loss of stick' and refers to a legend of Preah Bat Dambang Kranhoung (Kranhoung Stick King). This is what I have found so far on the legend, but missing some details still. A man named Dambang Krognuing stirs his rice with a black stick, then after eating the rice he turns black. After this change in color he deposes the current King (could not find his name) and assumes the throne himself. Not sure how long he holds rein of the throne, but the son of the deposed King (no name found either) rises up to topple Dambang Krognuing with the assitance of his magical flying steed. After attempting many times to unseat the prince with his black stick, Dambang Krognuing finally relinquishes the throne.
