Description Since the year 2000, November 25th has been designated as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This photograph was taken at an Amnesty International installation in Bologna, Italy. Wooden chairs were arranged in a spiral. On each chair was an article of red clothing with the name and age of a victim of gender based violence in Italy this year.A portion of each sale of these images will be donated to Amensty International. For more information, please have a look at their 16 days of action against gender violence campaign, which begins on November 25th and ends on December 10 (Human Rights Day): http://www.amnesty.org/en/womens-rights/16-daysTo donate directly to Amensty International, please go to: http://amnesty.org/en/donate
Rae Tucker, Vancouver Member Since January 2011 Artist Statement I never feel more at home than when I am looking at the world through the lens of a camera, be it a busy city street or quiet forest trail. The details of life are not only what makes life interesting, but also what is truly accentuated from behind a camera. I can't imagine a better place to be.
