Christ Before the Sanhedrin: The Final Frontier
Snatched up and brought here in an alien spacecraft light years from where I rightfully belong, I have been dragged before a large tribunal of men unknown to me before this hour. They have blood in their eyes, these inquisitors, and no doubt bloodstains on their hands as well. I am accused of much, but every witness disagrees with each that follows. It seems being a magus is the foremost among the many grievous crimes I bear. I cannot understand how they should know this, never having been in this place before. And where I come from magick is no evil, merely an entertainment at street fairs. I do not protest any of the charges, what defense can I mount to blasphemy?
The witnesses are finally exhausted, there is no other standing left to speak. The members of this infamous tribunal begin their own interrogation. The questions fly like arrows in a volley, one loosed after the other with no pausing. My head spins trying to absorb the words. And then, the man most dangerous among them - I know this by his cruel and hungry mouth - leans in and hisses at me like a viper, 'Do you deny you are the Son of God?' I am undone. How can he know I AM the son of Godde, the keeper of the keys to all that's holy in the place from which I was abducted? For verily that is my father's birth name, and he - my father - is an upright man; to be his son is naught to be ashamed of. 'I am,' I answer, 'I do not deny it.'
A roar erupts as every man is standing, and I am taken to a dungeon cell. Upon arrival there I am well beaten and thrown with no great care upon the floor. The door slams shut. I hear a name, not clearly, being shouted. I may not have it right, it sounds like Pilot. He is to be my judge
