Description It is hard to forget how we were brought up. Our mothers were tough farmers. They toiled and tilled the land so that we may live better one day. We imagined a better life than theirs. They fed us from the farm produce. We thought they were backwards. We are now leaving in cities and feeding on alien food like Pizza and the like.We are dying early due to lifestyle diseases.Ooh, poor loving mother, the way we miss the simple food you used to cook for us when we were young? Where did the greens and the cereals and the arrow-roots go?Today we have some more money than you had. We can now afford disease.Great mothers these were. We will never get their kind again. This is one of my older drawings. (1992)
Anthony Mwangi, Nairobi Member Since January 2015 Artist Statement In simple terms, I am a natural student of art since I was a little child. I recall small awards from various institutions since I was in class 5.
I have loved drawing all my life. For some time since I left high school, I ventured into graphic design which really helped me in day to day upkeep. Meanwhile, I would sell a painting here and there as I progressed in other avenues of Art. Photography is another passion I have cherished over the years. I have published two full color comic books in Kenya and Netherlands.
8 years ago I also got into 2D and 3D modeling and Animation. I feel this goes a long way in enhancing my artistic talents.
All in all, my deepest love is for fine art. I am happy to be a member of ImageKind Forum. I look forward to showcasing most of my work in fine art, photography and digital arts in this forum.
