Artist Statement A majority of my work reflects a wide range of personal experiences. I was born with a disease called spina bifida. The disease affects the nervous system in my body, thus not allowing me to have control of my bodily functions and in addition my mobility is limited. In an ironic twist when I work on a painting it is actually a labor of love in that it is physically painful for me to create, however I have no other choice. My intentions are not to illicit any form of sympathy or to write some sad sob story, as human beings (and as someone trying to achieve some form of sucess in this jungle called New York City) we all have had our own set of obstacles that have transformed us to who we are today. My work is an expression of the contortions and contractions I feel within myself. Continual growth as an artist is my primary objective. I would truly appreciate any honest feedback on my work.

Artist Statement: Using unexpected color and loose shapes rather than aiming for realism in my paintings allows the viewer creative perception and engages the emotions. Color is important--I believe it connects deeply as I seek to communicate my passion for life. This past year I’ve been working on a number of sculptures using aluminum wire and nylon. All my paintings and sculptures are done in layers, which lends depth and complexity to the final image. We work with artists who emphasize process and technique, not as an end in itself, but as a way of drawing out and amplifying the content of their work. The content itself focuses on highly specific and personal issues that tie into "the big issues" in the world at large.
