Description Life's stages from innocent love through maturity, old age, and death are shown as series of rooms to go through to reach the final destination: light at the end of the tunnel. The Guardian at the gates protects the journey beyond while dreaming into being. The innocent kiss symbolizes paradise: love in it's purest sense. The old ladies, societal norms, sanction the transition as they themselves prepare for their own journey into the beyond behind them. What will they find? The ending is custom made to their lives.
Juan Romagosa, Davis CA Member Since March 2009 Artist Statement My love of the Arts is nurtured by a passion for painting. I enjoy playing with oils in styles ranging from the symbolic, such as Romantic and Magic Realism, to Contemporary Realism with an edge. My predilection is Figurative allegory in thought provoking settings that evoke a sense of Classicism. I am represented by the Vacaville Art Gallery, the Arts Benicia Gallery and have been shown at various galleries in Solano County, California. I am Vice President of the Fairfield Visual Arts Association and my paintings are collected in California, Mexico, and Denmark. I am fascinated by the magic of the human figure and awed by the wonders of nature. I love illustrating the interplay of mankind and nature in my paintings, reconciling humanity to the environment, while exploring interpersonal relationships.
