Description Do you remember trolley cars? They were more personal than trains or buses because they were open to the street. They also moved slower and on tracks. Here we see two trolleys passing each other all decorated with advertisements galore on their sides. I can hear the trolley bells ringing now signaling their starts, stops and to get out of the way. The conductor wears a cap adorned with insignia and a jacket with brass buttons. Their single headlamps were also unique as dusk settles on their routes.
Paul Simone, Fayetteville Member Since June 2008 Artist Statement I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil. My so called 'right brain' has been active from the start. However, life got in the way and my 'left brain' won out. I got steered in the direction of electronics first via the US Air Force and later via the American Telephone & Telegraph company. But the GI Bill paid off and I got as much education as I could. One of my degrees is in art. Now that I'm retired I can once again return to my 'right brain' and, through the wonders of computers, allow my 'left brain' to participate in expressing my artistic feelings by using pixels as well as oils, acrylics, watercolors, pen and pencils. I have also taught drawing, oil and acrylic painting among other things. In addition I have studied and practiced photo restoration for over 30 years now. Photoshop has been my program of choice in case you are wondering. I do have a program called 'Painter' but I generally live in Photoshop. Adobe's new sales policies annoy me so I'm looking at a program called GIMP. As of 1-1-2014 I am reviving and converting my cartoon strip 'Hobo Robo' into an adventure series. It will be completely overhauled and illustrated by me. The New Hobo Robo is already far beyond my initial expectations; I create it and I'm amazed each day. Stay tuned. UPDATE: The eBook titled 'Hobo Robo - Adventures On New Georgia' is now published on Amazon Kindle! This adventure series is an epic trip into the world of robots and AI on the distant planet of New Georgia. Check it out here:
