Description This photo was taken using a 4x5 view camera with Polaroid Type 55 film. The markings around the edges are a natural occurance on the negative cause by the developing emulsion. It really gives a distinctive look to the print, indicative of this particular type of film.In my art, I am interested in capturing the beauty in the overlooked. In this series I am using the petals to enhance the inherent beauty of flowers.

Artist Statement Taylor Gillis is a photographer and writer who currently lives in Upstate New York. He holds a BFA in Graphic Design and an MA in Studio Art, both from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. He still has a fondness for shooting with “trusty ol’ film” and has a collection of quirky/old cameras, a few of which he still uses quite often.

Taylor describes his work as “Medium -format photography inspired by nature, possibility, and the beauty of details often overlooked.”
