Artist Statement The Blissful Adventurer is a photo journey about the planet viewed from the eyes of Michael Housewright. Michael shares images of places where he finds outstanding living, eating, and love.

Come join in his observations of the absurd and the beautiful viewed through the eyes of a well-fed wanderer.

Michael is a graduate of the University of Dallas and held careers in the wine and travel industries before choosing to photograph and share his adventures full-time. Michael co-founded one of Italy’s rising star travel companies (Southern Visions Travel).

In The Blissful Adventurer Michael tells stories of eating, drinking, and travel with a bent towards the existential and a liberal (arts) dose of humor rooted in his close family upbringing and slight tendencies for the dramatic.

Michael’s first book about a redneck kid from Texas who had never seen spaghetti without a meatball and eventually owns a travel company in the obscure Italian region of Puglia will be released in the Fall of 2014.
