Artist Statement Although she was born in the Catskill Mountains of New York and lived all up and down the eastern coast of the United States, Margaret Aycock settled about 30 years ago in Tulsa OK where she has made a living as an oil painter. When she isn't painting she is teaching oil painting techniques to her adult students in classes at TCC, Zieglers and Gilcrease Museum.

Margaret also participates in the Tulsa Arts and Humanities Council's Artists in the Schools program and is an artist in residence at Kaiser Rehab and the High Risk Pregnancy unit through Hillcrest Hospital's Arts in Healing Program. She is on the board for Tulsa's new contemporary art center and helped design the two installments on Tulsa's only Art Parkway which includes " The Tulsa Spirit Monument."

Margaret has had representation in galleries across the country and for the past 12 years has run her own online gallery which features her work and that of other fine artists in Oklahoma and Arkansas. http://midwest-fine-art.com Giclee prints of her paintings are nationally marketed through http://fineartamerica.com

Subject matter for her work includes landscape, seascape, still life, home portraits, portraits/figures, and interiors. Although she is probably best known for her delicate floral still life paintings, her painting, a landscape, "Sunset on the Tall Grass Prairie" was recently chosen to travel with Paint America's Paint the Parks Exhibition.
