Artist Statement As a child, my mother encouraged my unique artistic abilities and I made a career out of my art. I began as a theatrical set painter, then worked as a graphic designer, and finally as an art director for a large advertising agency in Chicago. After marrying my husband, Jan, and having our first child, we decided to lead a simpler life and moved to Northern Idaho. It was again with my mother’s encouragement and a renewed faith in God that I found my artistic passion as a primitive artist and began creating artwork for The Hearthside Collection. Currently I work as a high school art teacher and still license my artwork to a variety of companies, including The Hearthside Collection.
