Current Gallery: Three-Kings ( piece)
Three Kings is a triptych that celebrates the work of three electronic instrument designers: Tadao Kikumoto, Robert Moog, and Roger Linn. Almost every piece of music produced that includes either a synthesizer, a sample, or a drum machine, owes it's sound in no small way to the work of at least one of these pioneers. Three Kings is a multi-medium image, produced by, (1) painting iconographic likenesses of each engineer on canvas, (2) attaching electronic parts to the canvas in a medieval mosaic style, (3) professionally lighting and photographing each panel, (4) drum scanning the resulting transparencies at maximum resolution, and (5) digitally touching up each panel.
