Artist Statement I am a single mother for 10 years now and my ex hubby abandoned us when my youngest daughter was born last 2000. It was really heart breaking because he left me with 4 children -3 boys and a girl. At 1st I thought my world was breaking into pieces because at that time I got no work and only my immediate family was the only one I got. I was really thankful to my brothers that help me raising my children.
I separated myself to the world for 3 years. No work and nothing to do but to cry and stay at home and hide. My children where the one who suffered the most. They skip school for 2 years. I came to my senses when my one of my twin son tried to talk to me and said " Mommy move on we need you, we can't stand alone without you. if you want marry again so not to be lonely" that I cried...
I went to 1 of my friend and ask if she can help me get a job at that time I was 38 and not on hiring age but then she ask me if I can do emcee and sing for weddings. I said I can sing but I don't know if I can do wedding emceeing. But still I landed to that part time job but it is not sufficient because it only once a week that she can give me a schedule.
I tried to call my relative in Singapore to help me look for a job there. She got me a care giving job. I lasted for 1 year and 4 months at least my children went back to school.
When I went back home I am jobless again need to find a job quickly. I enrolled for a free class for basic computer knowledge sponsored by our 1 of the city councilors. Until I finally found a job as a call center agent. Now all my children are studying and I am able to provide allowance for them.
My finances is not enough for 4 children my eldest is in college my twin boys are in 4th year high school and my youngest daughter is in grade 4 all are enrolled in government school.
If any one would like to purchase some of my pictures it is a really big help. Also I will give half of the earnings to all solo parents in the
Philippines.
