Yves Barre, london Member Since May 2013 Artist Statement Born in France , at eighteen I decided to make my life and pursue a career in London working as a costume designer in TV and Films to the present day .
Following Art school I spent several years in theatre as an assistant eventually teaming up with Nicholas Georgiadis the highly respected and influential sets and costume designer . I experienced working on new major ballet productions throughout european Opera Houses .
As a costume designer I have built a reputation of "extremes" visually . From The League of Gentlemen/Psychoville (BBC) to Rosemary & Thyme (ITV) to Mutants Chronicles(Pressman Film) including an animated feature " Arthur Christmas " with Aardman Animations and many more . I simply enjoy picking-up a pen to draw , it gives me pleasure . My subjects are as diverse as my media work . For me it is all about composition , balance and the love of colour .
