Description AUTUMN BEAUTY AT LOWER TAUGHANNOCK FALLS by Lynn Bauer - These are the beautiful falls at the beginning of the hike to Taughannock Falls in the Finger Lake region of Upstate New York. The fall colors were putting on a pretty show with the lovely cascades falling before them! It was truly a magical scene!! Taughannock Falls is the tallest waterfall in New York and a real draw to people throughout the Northeast. The main fall plunges 215 feet from the rocks above it to the gorge below. This area is part of the Taughannock Falls State Park which borders Cayuga Lake.Located in Trumansburg, NY, near the town of Ithaca.
