After our trip to the Boundary Waters, it took me a while before I really felt like taking photos for the journal again. I still had a lot of images from the trip running through my head.
Then a couple of weeks ago, I took my camera in to work. At lunch time I went out front and ran across the same patch of prairie plants that I took pictures of earlier this spring. The difference was that now they were in full bloom.
I ended up chasing this bee around for a while, which I imagine was pretty amusing for folks passing by.
Hal Watson, River Falls, WI Member Since July 2010 Artist Statement My photo journal project began as a New Year’s resolution back in 2008. I had always wanted to keep some kind of journal but I didn’t really know where to begin. It wasn’t until that November when I realized I could tie my passion for photography together with my desire to put pen to paper.
It didn’t take too long before I started to observe that this practice was having a wonderful effect on my everyday life ~ I had somehow stumbled on a hidden wellspring that I could drink from whenever I needed it.
Thanks for being interested in what I’m up to, I hope you enjoy it.
