Description Hudson River Rendering of a combo sail/steamship heading downriver from the Haverstraw Area. Square rigged ships were somewhat rarer to the Hudson River than the more common sloop type sail ship/boat, which were more conducive for the shallower river navigation into the small town harbors up river.

Artist Statement I grew up in Dobbs Ferry NY (DFHS 1973), and spent a bit of spare time beside the Hudson River watching ships, trains, or just taking in the scene. Most of my life has been working for Metro-North Railroad as a project manager, but I always like to draw, and paint.

I started to oil paint in high school, but took a twenty plus year hiatus from painting. In 2004 I returned to painting, after feeling a need to use the river as a primary subject. I paint other subjects; industrial-scapes, ships, trains, planes, and other landscapes.

After a day's work at my day job, I try to find some time to escape into my artwork, meaning into the scene (or world) that I'm painting. I'm married to Michele Wolman, also artistically inclined (she works with me on the visual aspects of the paint..."it needs more this, and more of that, etc.,) Other hobbies or interests are: history, horseback riding, cooking, and sometimes photograqphy.

I try to have a show yearly exhibiting my work. I'm pleased to now be able to offer my work, reasonably priced and readily available through Imagekind.
