Description escapism and the feeling of being trapped because of unending demands and lack of time is what I had on my mind with this one. I was feeling a bit insane and daydreaming of running away. Rather than use myself as the figurative representation I went with a female simply because 1) I prefer painting female figures and 2) I think women feel this way much more often than men.
Aarron Laidig, Port Angeles Member Since March 2009 Artist Statement I am a lifetime artist. I draw, paint, tattoo, take pictures, write.. I have no other skills than the art geek ones so I guess that is what I will be doing my whole life. I doubt I would enjoy a "real job" anyway.
My passions change with the seasons and what I am doing in my life is reflected in my works. My loves, my hates, my joys and sadness all become pictures of some type and end up floating through the world for others to taste. I hope that you may find some of my work moves you.
