Description In the late1800s and early 1900s timber was king in the Puget Sound area of the Pacific Northwest. The native old grow Cedars were cut from the surrounding hills in the Puget Sound area and moved down to the nearby beaches where they were loaded on barges and ships for delivery to the sawmills. This picture is of the last remnants of a pier trhat was used to tie up barges and ships near the logging area. This area is part of Picnic Park Beach near Mukilteo, WA north of Seattle.
