Description As a child in school I had to lean William Wordsworth's poem, 'Daffodils.' One of the lines goes 'Beside the lake, beneath the trees...' Well, I never got the line out of my head hence the title to this piece.... Leaving and rejoining 'The Tamiami Trail' (SR 41) is a very special place for me called 'The Loop Road.' It actually runs through three counties during its 26 mile length - Miami/Dade, Monroe, and Collier. At one point it goes past this lake to the south of the road. A large copy of this photograph in black and white and printed on canvas hangs on the wall of my good friend Vince Clancy here in Wilton Manors. If you are in South Florida and looking for somewhere a little off the been track to go explore you could do worse. Part of the road is tarmaced, part of it compacted gravel. I don't have a 4-wheel drive vehicle and have never had problems driving on it. And if you should see someone stopped at the side of the road with a camera in his hands there's a good chance it'll be me!
