Description Some time before Fear and Letting Go, before the Rock and a Hard Place, there was an ongoing battle between Good and Evil. Greek mythology pits Scylla, who threw bodies overboard to avoid risk or change, against Charybdis who risks it all to save our souls. Good and Evil churn the seas in this abstract acrylic painting with a deeper narrative.
Caren Keyser, Melbourne, FL Member Since June 2013 Artist Statement Color rules my art. I am now working on abstract paintings. Expression rules my style. I love when a story is revealed in my work, but sometimes it is just abstract. I have been called an intuitive painter because I generally begin a piece with a bold application of paint. Then if I recognize figures and other images within the paint strokes I develop those into my final artwork. I began as a photorealist painter back when photorealism was new. Now I am excited to work in an abstract or expressive style, allowing the paint itself to inform my image.
