Artist Statement Hi everyone. I am Scottish, a retired nurse and midwife, turned writer and photographer.
I took up photography seriously around October 2009, so I am still learning, but what a journey! Like many people I've discovered I enjoy photographing wildlife, but I don't just want to document breeds: I want to show behaviour and environment. I want to give wildlife room to breathe and not crop and frame so tightly, all that is left is one figure. I have called this first set of images Birds on Bright Water, a hint that I consider the water as important, sometimes more important, than the bird.
