Artist Statement
Rey is an oil painter and computer artist with a fascination of the biological world, complex organisms and geology. He believes that the biological world has a way of encouraging dialogue. He uses various tools and techniques to agitate the surface of his work. This process creates the dystopian forms and textures depicted in his pieces. His work explores human emotions, metaphoric concepts and hope. This invites the viewer to examine the particulars of each piece for their own personal message or emotion. These inspirations allow him to find a purpose and a voice.
