Artist Statement Clay Debevoise was born in 1954. He moved to San Francisco in 1997 and lives with his younger daughter in the North Bay Area; his older daughter lives in Italy.

He worked as an art, commercial, family, fashion and portrait photographer in Connecticut until 1989 when he moved to New York City and worked with Warhol Studios and earned his MFA in Digital Media. By 1997, Clay's graffiti-like "written images" (made with a computer using tablet and stylus) were in many private and museum collections.
