Artist Statement Angelo Thomas was born in Flint, Michigan. Although he never received any formal training or instruction, he displayed considerable artistic talent during his years in public schools.

After majoring in Art Education at Southern Arkansas University-Magnolia, he taught public school art in Arkansas for six years. He is a current member of the faculty at Philander Smith College in Little Rock.

Mr. Thomas has been seriously painting since 1995 and feels that his artistic maturity is peaking only now. Mainly working in oils and acrylics, he specializes in realistic portraits but also does landscapes, montage portraits/scenes, fantasy art, and still-life compositions. He currently resides in Little Rock, Arkansas. Angelo has shown many of his works in galleries and exhibitions in Arkansas and Louisiana. He also accepts commissions for portraits and other works.
