Artist Statement I am a marine ecology PhD student, currently living in Queensland, Australia, but originally from the UK. I love photography because it allows me to express my creative streak when I'm tired of all the science. I shoot with a Nikon D50, which was possibly the best birthday present ever!

Things I love: long exposures, depth of field, vintage-feel photographs: lomo and through-the-viewfinder, treating myself to coffee and cake in a nice little cafe, saturated colours, reading the sunday papers in bed, long hot showers on miserable days, the smell of my hair when it’s just been washed, jellyfish (must remember not to hug them), browsing in bookshops, lazy brunches, bears and lots of other stuff.
