Artist Statement I love knowing that an idea I have, can be put to paper or canvas. The skill to re-create the feelings and images I imagine, is an overwhelming joy. My whole mind and body can go into creating a painting. The energy and focus I give to my art, is a feeling of excitement, joy and wonder. That's what I want to paint, and that's what I want the viewer to see and feel.

I’ve been awarded certificates for my artwork from kindergarten to grade 12. Also, In college I was cited for my ability in color theory techniques. My work has been shown from 100 Mile House BC, all the way to Cumberland BC.
I have participated in two year-end College Fine Art Shows, and was the only student during both to sell artwork. In 2004 I studied at the Victoria of College of Art. I was also a student in the Fine Arts Program at North Island College from 2004-2006.

I'm always on the lookout for artists with similar styles, for ideas and inspiration. Artists that presently inspire me are Stephanie Pui-mun Law, Linda Ravenscroft and Autumn Skye.

Sometimes it can be a challenge to find what makes art your own. Only in the last few years have I really found what makes me passionate about painting...

In particular, I’m inspired by fantasy and science fiction, although I also love to paint wildlife, flowers, butterflies and landscapes. Most of my fantasy/sci-fi work is finished with bold, clean lines of black or sepia.
I see ideas for art almost everywhere I go, and each season brings new beauty, inspiration and colors. The natural beauty of our world is a pleasure to express through art.
