Artist Statement Hannah Lake has 2 degrees from the Univeristy of Southern California, in Los Angeles. She currently resides in the Dallas Fort Worth area, but spends a good deal of time in Galveston, particularly during the summer. She loves life at the beach! She prefers painting, drawing portraits and photography. However, recent spinal cord injuries have caused her to switch tools and her work is primarily done on a laptop computer. Her work represents a new take on pointillism; every mark is a block of color - no lines. Some canvasas are geometric shapes, yet many are scenes, created totally out of circles or blocks/squares. Other artists who inspire her are an ecclectic mix: Shag, Romaire Bearden, Monet, Mary Cassatt, Matisse, Michaelangelo and Degas. Deux Chats speak French! (Les Conversations de Deux parlent la langue française.) Many of her prints are retro, 1950's, 1970's.

Most of her work has been pulled off image kind site, as of November 28, 2009, because she is now represented by the Art of Possibilities Studios. They work with disabled artists. She is very excited about this new opportunity and thankful for imagekind allowing me space to show her work during this last year.
