Description Taken with the Canon MP-E 65mm 1-5X macro lens, this is a semi abstract extreme macro shot of the antenna of a Buff Ermine moth (Spilarctia luteum), a pretty medium sized moth of the Arctiidae family. Similar to the puss moth I uploaded last year, it has a hairy head and cream colour, spotted with black like a dalmation dog. You can see the very hairy head on the left hand side and a wild geranium flower in my Sissinghurst garden provides the pink and white background.
James Bennett (Mr Bennett Kent), Sissinghurst, Kent, England Member Since July 2014 Artist Statement Fine Art Wildlife and Bird photography from the UK and my travels to America and Australia.
Macro and Extreme Macro photography of insects and plants are also represented, showing the fascinating and strangely beautiful world normally invisible to the naked eye.
