Amalia Jonas, Michigan, usa Member Since March 2011 Artist Statement At the beginning of the 1980s I moved to the United States. I lived in Las Vegas where I painted numerous portraits on commission of adults and children, also made murals for various restaurants.
In 2009 I moved to Michigan. Attracted and fascinated with nature and wildlife in this region, I began to paint wildlife and Outside Michigan.
The four seasons cause in me mixed feelings, and in the landscape a difference marked with colors, in Autumn, the reality surpasses the imagination of any artist and colors inundate us with sensations.
In the town of Rose City, Michigan I have exposed paintings done on wood that are part of the history of this region as they have belonged to barn’s, built in the 1800s and early 1900s ..
I have been commissioned by the Ogemaw Veterans Affair Museum located in Ogemaw County Fair in West Branch, Michigan to paint a portrair of the best Veteran of this year.
Wildlife is waiting for me in Michigan big neighborhood of forest, prairies and wetlands.
