Description CALIFORNIA POPPIES GONE WILD by Lynn Bauer - California poppies are exploding across the hillsides in Southern California, catching the attention of the media across the country. Our drought has made the headlines for years, and abundant rains this year have caused the wildflowers to well...go wild! My husband and I drove a long way to see this incredible area...and, thanks to the internet and media reports, we were not the only ones! People had flocked to this sight and were traipsing through the flowers with their selfie-sticks. These areas are so incredibly special that I hate to see them get trampled on...and, I work hard to find the shots to be able to preserve the memory of what was an extraordinary bloom!Taken in Walker Canyon, Lake Elsinore, California.
