Artist Statement The exact moment I first picked up a camera eludes my memory, but I know it happened, and it marked the beginning of a lifelong journey through the lens.

My school years are a blur of photo darkrooms, chemistry experiments that drove my grandma to her wit's end, and endless wanderings with a camera in hand. What else do I recall from that time? Virtually nothing. Yet, I did attend school, and somehow, I gleaned knowledge from it, or so I hope.

University unfolded eight years of enlightenment, focusing my studies on the captivating realms of aerial and space photography, as well as the intricate world of digital image processing. It was an exhilarating journey. If you peruse my portfolio, you'll quickly spot my unyielding passion for panoramas. It all makes sense now - stitching together a myriad of aerial photographs into colossal sheets was an absolute necessity in the world of land surveying during those days.

Simultaneously, as I fell head over heels for the mysteries of caves, the grandeur of mountains, and the stark beauty of the Arctic, I embarked on countless adventures to some of the most remote and pristine corners of our planet. And always, a camera was my steadfast companion. If a trip didn't result in photographs, it felt as if the journey hadn't truly happened, and I'd find myself compelled to return.

Now that my children have grown and I'm not chained to the galley oars, rowing tirelessly day and night to provide for them, I find myself in the enviable position of doing what I've always cherished most – capturing the wonders of Mother Nature through the lens, immortalizing the beauty she has created and continues to craft.
