Artist Statement McDaniel used to be named Western Maryland College, and it was renamed in 2002 after William R. McDaniel, class of 1880. McDaniel students are happy with their college, with 86% reporting they would make the decision to come to McDaniel again. The campus's nine-hole golf course doubles as a downhill sledding slope in the winter.
St. John's College has two locations: one in Santa Fe, NM, and another in Annapolis, MD. There are no majors at St. John's; all students take the same classes based on a great books curriculum. St. John's emphasizes the value of everyone's opinion. The term "professor" is not used; discussions are led by "tutors," the term used for faculty members.
