Artist Statement Thank you for visiting my gallery and viewing my art. I appreciate your interest and support.

I studied photography and literature at Seton HIll University, where I earned a Bachelor of Art degree. Later, I studied drawing, painting and art history at the University of New Mexico and at Stanford University in its Continuing Studies curriculum.

I especially enjoy things that challenge my eye, that are sometimes hard to see. That is why I am drawn to things that are transparent and/or reflective. For that reason, I often photograph and paint glass and water.

I am also a calligrapher, and I create works that are based on the Jungian creativity cycle of chaos, decay, and fullness or perfection. Of these, my work is primarily focused on chaos and decay stages of creation. From that inspiration, I produce abstractions that are based on complexity and disintegration, using the words of favorite poems as a basis for transformation of the words and letter forms.
