Artist Statement I've been intrigued and inspired by nature since I was a child. Growing up in the beautiful Catskill Mountains of New York State, with the river, farmland and historic sites of the Hudson Valley right outside my door, it was impossible to live in this area and not be inspired by it in some way.

There are so many details in nature that captivate me...colors, textures, light...the list goes on. I am happiest when immersed in nature and am constantly gazing up at the sky or peering at the ground, observing the natural world around me.

​ For quite some time, my primary medium had been graphite pencil, but over the past year, I have been working more with pastels, colored pencils and acrylics. I've always admired colorful works of art and it feels so good to incorporate it back into my own. It has unleashed a whole new round of creativity and I am excited about the projects I have planned.
