Artist Statement I am an amateur photographer who enjoys travel photography, first and foremost. Most of my photographs are taken while on vacation in various parts of the world, but I do aspire to broaden my artistic horizons with more portraiture and abstract work.

I took my first black & white photography class more than 20 years ago, but left the hobby after a couple of years. In 2002, I began to take a serious interest in my photography again, and continue to develop my skills with the encouraging words and compliments from my friends and family.

I've worked with a variety of cameras, from film cameras to digital SLRs and point-and-shoots. In my opinion, film still holds more artistic promise than digital since I'm not a big fan of Photo Shop created art. Film types, exposure length, and development can create the truest and most unique of photographic images without the unreal look of digital manipulation. In the future, I hope to expand my repertoire to include genuine film media as well as digital photography.
